5. Brunei


Brunei is a place that is spread over 5,700 square kilo metres in Southeast Asia. It gets majority of its wealth from oil and gas that it produces. It produces around 1,67,000 barrels of oil and gas every day. Interesting fact about this place is that its population is just around 5,00,000 and its President is one of the richest person in the world and has a plane inlaid with gold along with other 1900 cars. It is a very strict place with law and order strictly being obeyed.

10. MS Vale Brasil



MS Vale Brasil, possessed by one of the mining companies 'Vale' of Brazil, is the globe's biggest load carrier. Designed to bring metal ore from South America to Japan along the Cape path around Southern Africa, it is the first of seven 4,00,000-ton very huge ore providers (VLOC) requested by Vale from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Underwater Technological innovation in South Korea and other 12 from Jiangsu Rongsheng Heavy Industries in China. While near to the requirements of Chinamax, these delivers are often called Valemax veins by Vale.
It is 1,188 feet long and is one of the huge bulk carriers in service ship. It has a gross registered tonnage of about 1,99,000 tonnes. It started its first voyage in May 2011 and since then serves its country in transferring goods from one country to other. 9. Jarmada Class


This ship started its journey in July 1975 to carry oil to different parts of the world. It is 1,225 feet long and has maximum speed of around 16 knots. Jarmada class has made many of the successful journeys. It served for 32 years and finally came to and end in 2008. It had a deadweight tonnage of 3,80,000 and was one of the most strongest, powerful and biggest ship in the world. It is currently used as a dumb storage tank barge.

8. Globtik Tokyo


It started its first voyage in February 1973 and was one of the largest oil carrying ships of all times. It was 1,243 feet long and had deadweight tonnage capacity of about 4,84,000 tonnes. Its top speed was about 16 to 17 knots. It served for about 13 long years. Its black and red color scheme gave a great view to everyone when it touched the surface of the water. 

7. TI class supertankel


One of the most attractive ships ever built, TI class supertankel was known for its huge capacity for transfer of crude oil. It had a deadweight tonnage of around 4,40,000 tonnes and was 1,246 feet long. TI Oceania had speed capacity of about 16 to 18 knots and was a masterpiece ship laden with technology to overcome all the obstacles that came over its way during its voyage. 

6. Emma Maersk


It is the biggest ship in the world that is still in service. It started its journey in 2006 and was the largest container ship with the length of about 1,305 feet. It has a deadweight capacity of 1,59,000 tonnes and almost speeds upto 26 knots. Emma Maerskis is used to carry different goods in different parts of the world. It is one of the finest made largest ships in the world and maintains to be in the list of longest constructed and currentky-in-use ships along with its seven other sisters.

5. Esso Atlantic


This historically known ship was one of the best in its time and served the world for almost 35 years. This oil tanker had a deadweight tonnage capacity of about 5,16,000 tonnes and was 1,334 feet long. It could speed up maximum upto 16 knots. Unfortunately, this ship was disposed off as a scrap in Pakistan in 2002.

4. Prairial (Supertanker)


Prairial was built in 1979 by Chantiers de l'Atlantique for Compagnie Nationale de Navigation. It was the one and only ship of Batillus class to have had a career of more than 10 years. It was known by three different names: Sea Brilliance (1985), Sea Giant (1997) and Hellas Fos (1986). It served the year for almost 34 years and transported crude oil and goods from one country to another. It is 1,359 feet long and had a speed capacity of about 16 knots. The tonnage capacity of Prairial tanker was almost equal to 5,55,000 tonnes.

3. Batillus


It was a supertanker that was built in 1976 by Chantiers de l'Atlantique for the french branch of Shell Oil. It was one of the largest ships in the world along with the ships Bellamya, Pierre Guillaumat and Prairial. It was about 1,359 feet in length and could speed upto 16 to 17 knots. The deadweight capacity of the Batillus was around 5,54,000 tonnes.

2.Pierre Guillaumat (supertanker)


It was built in 1977 by Chantiers de l'Atlantique for Compagnie Nationale de Navigation. It was the second biggest ship ever built in the history of mankind. It was around 1,360 feet long and had a deadweight tonnage capacity of almost 5,55,000 tonnes. It could speed upto 16 knots. Pierre Guillamat served the world for about 6 years and later was disposed off as a scrap because of its declining demands. It was permitted to enter only few of the ports because of its draft. However, the biggest disadvantage that this ship had was because of its such a huge size. 

1. Seawise Giant


It is the largest ship seen till present in the world. She was capable of navigating English channel, the Suez canal and Panama canal and had a displacement of about 6,57,019 tonnes. It was last used as a storage for Qatar in Persian Gulf at Al Shaheen Oil Field. It had a deadweight tonnage of about 5,64,700 tonnes and could speed upto 16 knots. She was also called the Queen of Oceans and rivers and was 1,504 feet lengthy. Seawise Giant fared the seas for almost 30 years till 2009.

10. Lightning storm in Roswell, New Mexico, 2010 (US)


Powerful lightning storms have wreaked havoc in many places including Rosewell in New Mexico in the year 2010. This storm had been very destructive and deadly but beautiful and awe-inspiring at the same time.

7. Ash clouds, Buang Valley Mayon volcano, 1984 (Phillipines)




The above picture shows incandescent lava that flows from the Mayon volcano in the Phillipines from the Legaspi City on 14 September,1984. It flowed for about 4 kilometres to the lower flanks of the volcano and  adjacent to the previous flows from eruptions in 1968 and 1978.

On March 17, 2011, a large portion of the southbound lane near Rocky Creek Bridge in Monterey County, California broke away, leaving a large hole in the road. Fortunately, no one was injured.

A major volcanic eruption occured at Mt. St. Helens in 1980, a volcano located in Washington in the United States. The eruption was the only one to occur in the contiguous 48 states since 1915 eruption of Lassen Peak in California.

3. A volcano erupting during storms 2008 (chile)



These images by Carlos Gutierrez, UPI photographer, shows volcanic eruption during a storm in the middle of night of May 3,2008 in Chaiten,Chile. This volcano, located 800 miles south of the capital Santiago was considered inactive since it had not erupted for hundred of years.

2. Undersea Volcano in Tonga. 2009 (Polynesian)


Tonga undersea volcanic eruption of 2009 was a volcanic activity that began on March 16,2009 near the island of Hunga Tonga, 11 kms from Tongan capital of Tongatapu.
After four days of the eruption, a strong earthquake with a measure of 7.6 on Richter scale also struck the region.

1. Eyjafjallajokull Volcano, 2010 (Iceland)
